Our Newest Skill - Die Cutting

Posted by ashley mcneill on

You know that saying that you should say Yes, and figure out how later? When asked if I could die cut for a project, that's exactly what happened.

San Antonio designer Nancy Reed had designed two gift card holders (only one style is shown in the photos at this time) that she needed letterpress printed and also die cut to actually hold the gift cards.

Theoretically, I knew I could die cut something on the press. We own a bunch of dies that came with the printing press. I've watched a YouTube video. So sure, I can do it. Bid was accepted, I found a Texas-based company who made the required die, and while waiting for it to arrive, I taught myself to die cut.

Et voila! Those two little slits hold a (personal sample) gift card, and the card fits so nicely. Looking forward to working with Nancy Reed again!
